Shopping

Edinburgh is famous for it’s range of high street shops. It stretches around 1 mile long, from Lothian Road in the west to Leith Street in the east. The vast amount of shops that are all in close proximity of one and other and are easily accessed through the city's transport links.

Among the shops on Princes Street are several large stores such as Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and Jenners.
In addition to these larger stores, other high street names include; Next, HMV, River Island, USC, GAP, H&M, Virgin Megasotre, Top Shop/Man, and so on... As well as Princes Street, Edinburgh also plays host to three shopping centres; Princes Mall, St. James Centre and the more recent development Ocean Terminal. Ocean Terminal, which has proved extremely popular hosts; 85 stores, 4 restaurants, 1 cinema, and 3 coffee shops. The larger stores within the complex are again BHS and Debenhams.

Out with the centre of Edinburgh is the shopping complex Fort Kinnaird. This an outdoor retail park which has stores such as; Toys r' us, Marks & Spencer, PC World, Burtons, Sports World, GAP, HMV & Next. The complex also has an Odeon Cinema and Ten pin bowling as well as numerous restaurants.
